As introverts and highly sensitive people we may have a tendency to focus on our weaknesses rather than our strengths. What we wish we were able to do rather than what we CAN do.
It’s time to focus on our strengths. We must look at improving the areas that are already tilted in our favour.
In this week’s podcast I consider this in light of what it means to tune into your sensitivity, i.e. identifying the things that you notice about the world, and allowing them to influence your relationship with it.
What makes you different?
We are all sensitive to different stimuli. We notice things in our own way. That’s where we find our strength areas, the clues to our passions and dreams.
If you cut off your sensitivity or live in avoidance of overwhelm that is necessary for the pursuit of the stuff that matters to you then you will never get to experience your potential.
- You don’t need to ‘Man Up’
Your sensitivities are like lightbulbs
You will desensitise to the details but not the heart
We are all sensitive to different things
You have a key to unlock transformation in and for other people
I would love to hear your thoughts on this episode, especially in reference to this question:
Is there something that became a catalyst for you to change something so that no one else would have to go through the same thing as you?
The phrase “I will never let this happen again” can either make us defensive and pull the wall around us, or it can make us determined to stop other people experiencing what we’ve experienced.
We have the opportunity, choice, and responsibility to feel that pain, and to say no on behalf of the next person. I’d love to hear any experiences like this you may have had.
