Hi, I'm Andy.

Putting my work into understandable boxes is difficult, but I'll try...

I spend most days helping people connect with their natural creativity. Sometimes, this involves working one-on-one as they conceive, develop, or promote a specific project. At other times, it entails diving into a phrase maze: group workshops where we playfully explore familiar idioms and proverbs to allow the creative mind to flow and connect ideas across various aspects of life.

I built The Haven in 2014 as somewhere for Highly Sensitive People (HSPs) and those who think and feel things deeply to meet, explore, and create (alone) together. This is the hub for my "slow coaching" practice. It also hosts The Gentle Rebel Podcast, which started life as Sheep Dressed Like Wolves around 2010.

My creative practices mostly centre on sound—specifically, music. I discovered this universal language when I was young. I was irrevocably moved and positively unsettled by the potential power of a human being's relationship with an instrument and the mind-blowing power of a song to evoke such an explosion of thoughts and feelings that language can't adequately describe.

I have always written songs and made music. It's how I react, process and make sense of the world. I love to record, produce, and perform. This creative practice primarily consisted of songwriting until 2022, when I also began building soundscapes and ambient instrumentals that augment my work in The Haven. I often create "Sound Anchors", weaving together music with meditative narratives and storytelling to help people slow down, connect inwardly, and listen to the quiet, creative voice within.
